Pâté with a reduced fat and energy content
Being overweight or obese can significantly impact on your dog's health, as it can shorten a dog’s life and make them more likely to develop disease, which will affect their quality of life. For dogs that have weight problems or a tendency towards obesity, we have developed Weight & Diabetic, pâté with pork, chicken and peas, a dietetic complete wet food for adult dogs for reduction of excessive body weight. It contains a lower energy density but is formulated with plenty of fibre to give an earlier feeling of satiety. The protein content is increased to help maintain muscle mass during the weight loss period. With L-carnitine to support the metabolism and conversion of fat into energy. The vitamin and mineral levels in the product have been adjusted to still be sufficient when a smaller amount of food is given.
This food is also suitable for dogs with diabetes for regulation of glucose supply with a low level of mono- and disaccharides. The increased fibre content and the use of slow-release carbohydrates ensure a gradual rise of blood glucose.
Fibres are added to support the intestinal function, to prevent diarrhoea but also to prevent constipation. In addition to that, Weight & Diabetic contains inulin, a source of fructo-oligosaccharides, prebiotic which helps to support healthy digestion.
